OUR BUS DRIVER POSITION
The primary purpose of our Bus Driver position is to drive the bus and perform activities related to the transportation and safety of residents on trips. Work must be in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility and as may be directed by the Administrator and Transportation Coordinator.

LOCATION
This position is based at Ring House, located at 1801 E Jefferson St in Rockville, Maryland

SHIFTS & STATUS
This is a Full-Time position, additional hours may be required based on community needs.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive residents on scheduled shopping trips and to cultural and social events.
• Assist with getting packages on and off the bus.
• Escort residents on trips, as needed, from the point they disembark to their return to the bus.
• Maintain vehicle to provide a clean and safe environment for passengers.
• Fill diesel tank if it is less than 1/4 full. Check oil, fluids weekly. Log fuel receipts including mileage, date, amount of fuel and cost.
• Provide emergency bus transportation to staff and/or residents in the process of evacuating the building.
• Report any deviations in bus function to the Transportation Coordinator, including safety issues or broken parts to be repaired.
• Keep attendance sheets during scheduled trips. Complete daily log sheet.
• Disseminate and collect customer satisfaction questionnaires on specifically designated trips.
• Report incidents and problems with residents, as they arise.
• Assist with activity programming, as needed.
• Provide support staff functions for other departments, including phone answering and light clerical work.
• Pick up and drop off inter-departmental mail in the early morning and as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• A valid Class C CDL license vehicle operator's permit and a clean driving record are required.
• Three (3) years of experience as a driver preferred.

COVID-19 RESPONSE
As a dedicated provider to Senior Living Care our facility requires all hired associates to provide proof of vaccination records, including two doses of MMR, two doses of Varicella, and a Negative TB screen before the start of employment. Another source of documentation that can be accepted is a Titer or Lab test that expresses proven immunity to the following diseases. Upon employment our Talent Acquisition team will provide additional details regarding CESLC vaccination policy.
