OUR Senior Director, CESLC SeniorCare Ventures POSITION

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Senior Director, (Director) is responsible for the oversight of SmithLife® Homecare (SmithLife) to include operational practices, service quality, financial responsibilities and innovation in delivering care in the community setting. The Senior Director will also lead in proposing new services/specialty programs and developing relevant positioning statements and recommendations (including business plan creation) to senior company management and its Boards.  This position is accountable to achieve growth and financial performance key results as identified annually. The Senior Director is also responsible for ElderSAFE™ Center, a program that provides safe temporary shelter to older adults experiencing elder abuse, as well as education and advocacy on elder abuse prevention. The Senior Director must work collaboratively with vice presidents, senior directors and directors to assure that plans are aligned with operational capabilities and organizational key results. This position will have direct supervisory authority for the SmithLife administrator, and the ElderSAFE program manager and community educator.

 

The Senior Director will require accessibility to participate in crisis/situation management, and may require evening and weekend hours to cover stories and events, as well as access to reliable transportation.  In addition, this position is required to participate in required orientation and other forms of professional development required for all CESLC SeniorCare Ventures Inc. and Charles E. Smith Life Communities associates.


 

SmithLife Homecare:

  • Develops and implements long-range (two to three years) strategic plan and annual priority projects to meet (or exceed) financial performance, customer and associate satisfaction and other key performance results.
  • Supervises SmithLife administrator and ensures timely follow-up with associates, families and clients to assure solutions are promptly implemented and effective.
  • Communicates with associates regularly regarding goals, plans, challenges, innovations, etc. Convenes regularly scheduled meetings with associates. 
  • Oversees alignment of clinical capabilities and market (growth) opportunities.
  • Develops SmithLife budget and remains within budgetary parameters. Prepares and submits budget variance reports as requested. Takes prompt action to address variances.
  • Supports marketing and business development efforts to strengthen existing customer relationships (i.e. referral sources, centers of influence, etc.) and expand SmithLife client base. Works collaboratively with director of community relations.
  • Ensures that a metrics-driven orientation is in place to develop, deploy and measure the effectiveness and quality of operational performance, customer satisfaction and associate engagement.
  • Ensures the close collaboration between SmithLife and the other CESLC service lines to support and promote SmithLife services to CESLC residents and resident representatives.
  • Engages with referral sources and centers of influence to identify business opportunities and deliver meaningful market feedback.
  • Oversees the creation and implementation of a marketing plan in line with financial and other business (e.g. lead generation, etc.) key results.
  • Identifies technology needs to enhance organizational growth and care/service delivery.
  • Establishes an environment conducive to operations, utilizing performance improvement and effective management principles.
  • Supports the board of directors of CESLC SeniorCare Ventures Inc., including preparing agendas for board meetings, reviewing, preparing and distributing board materials, and handling the logistics of board meetings, in coordination with President/CEO.

Development of New Service Lines:

  • Develops proposals and business plans (including narrative statements and presentations, operating plans, profit and loss projections, etc.) for potential projects.  Responsible for Board presentations.
  • Uses data and analytics for decision making and measuring marketing effectiveness.
  • Proposes new service lines and works collaboratively to develop relevant positioning statements and recommendations (including business plan creation) to senior company management and board of governors and board of directors.
  • Identifies, develops and manages strategic partnerships to support business growth.
  • Assesses business risks by analyzing relevant information (e.g. financial, statistical, and market data).

ElderSAFE Center:

  • Oversees the general operations of ElderSAFE including convening regular meetings with associates, to provide support and oversight.
  • Ensures the close collaboration between ElderSAFE and the other CESLC service lines to support ElderSAFE clients and services. Liaise between executive directors and ElderSAFE associates as needed.
  • Informs CESLC organizational policies and procedures as they relate to the identification and prevention of elder abuse.
  • Oversees development of ElderSAFE Center budget and remains within budgetary parameters.
  • Oversees preparation and submission of budget variance reports as requested. Takes prompt action to correct variances.

LOCATION

This position is based at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, located 6121 Montrose Rd, Rockville, MD 20852.

 

SHIFTS & STATUS

This is a full time, salaried position.

 

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college required. Master’s degree in business or public administration (or related field) preferred.
  • Seven years (minimum) of progressively responsible related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge and abilities, including three years in a supervisory or management capacity is required.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated and ability to work without supervision.
  • Strong planning, analytical skills, quantitative skills, and project management skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate business plans including pro forma projections.
  • Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills.
  • Career history of proven results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Demonstrates leadership and management skills and has the ability to work cross-functionally, with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

VACCINATION POLICY

As a dedicated provider to Senior Living Care our facility requires all hired associates to provide proof of vaccination records, including two doses of MMR, two doses of Varicella, and a Negative TB screen before the start of employment. Another source of documentation that can be accepted is a Titer or Lab test that expresses proven immunity to the following diseases. Upon employment our Talent Acquisition team will provide additional details regarding CESLC vaccination policy.
