Position Overview

The primary purpose of your job position is:   to plan, organize and direct the overall operation of the Activities Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and guidelines that govern our facility and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality programming can be provided to our residents at all times. 

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, and evaluate, the activity programs of the facility
  • Working with the director of transportation to schedule bus trips including regular local shopping and other trips, theater, museums and trips that will interest our residents. This includes ordering tickets o theater, concerts, museums and working with Life and Leisure manager regarding budget.
  • Supervising resident volunteers at the R Café, managing the food inventory , ordering and shopping for items. Knowledge of kosher items is important.
  • ServSafe certification for the café.
  • Assisting the Life and Leisure Manager with programs, set-ups, engaging vendors.
  • Assist new residents to help acclimate in their transition to IL. Familiarize them with monthly calendar, bus trips, café ,laundry machines.
  • Have monthly meetings with activities committee regarding museums, theater, and other upcoming events of interest.
  • Develop, administer, and coordinate department policies and procedures.
  • Develop a well-rounded activity program, which engages residents emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually.
  • Perform administrative requirements, such as completing forms, reports and submitting as required.
