OUR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN POSITION
The primary purpose of a maintenance technician is to ensure that the facility and its equipment remain safe, functional, and efficient by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing issues (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.), and responding to unexpected breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.. The Maintenance Technician will shift facilities from reactive fixes to proactive upkeep, keeping critical systems running smoothly in a safe and effective manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and our established policies and procedures to ensure a safe and pleasing environment for the residents.

LOCATION
This position is based at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, located at 6121 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland. 

SHIFTS & STATUS
This is a full time, day shift position.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacements to prevent failures.
  • Repairs: Diagnosing and fixing problems with machinery, electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Troubleshooting: Using technical skills (like reading PLC ladder logic) to identify the root cause of complex mechanical or electrical issues, often a large part of the job.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all systems meet industry codes and safety standards, including fire and alarm systems.
  • Downtime Reduction: Promptly addressing issues to keep production or operations running smoothly. 
  • Demonstrate High standards of Customer Service.
  • Respond to emergency calls from the building in the complex during non-regular hours.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High-school diploma or GED. 
  • Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification. (Preffered).
  • Possess a valid driver's license, and have reliable transportation.
  • Two years of experience working in boiler room and operations.
